William J. Wagner, Jr., age 83, died on June 25, 2023 in Fort Atkinson. Bill was born in Madison on May 11, 1940, to William and Ferndale (Vale) Wagner. He was married Jeanne Geishirt for many happy years.
Bill ran Wagner’s Bar in Sun Prairie for many years. An avid outdoorsman, Bill enjoyed shooting trap, as well as deer hunting. Bill and Jeanne were enthusiastic snowbirds, traveling South yearly to escape the Wisconsin winters. Bill shared a birthday with his son Randy, a unique occurrence the men celebrated together for many decades.
He is survived by: his three sons, Randy (Juliene), Billy, and Gregg (Vicki); 10 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; a sister, Donna (Bruce) Nicholson; brother, Chuck (Brenda) Wagner; and significant other, Ann.
Bill is preceded in death by: his parents; his wife Jeanne; daughter Julie; and his sisters, Molly Mayer and Kay (Lee) Zbigniewicz.
A celebration of Bill’s life will be held on Saturday, July 22, 2023 at Wagner’s Bar in Sun Prairie. Memorials may be made to White Tails Unlimited or the Jefferson Sport Club.
