Wava B. Hanson. The sewing machine sits idle, the last wedding cake made, the master artisan Wava B. Hanson (nee Warnecke) was reunited with her late husband Donald Hanson on November 6, 2020. Wava was born February 23, 1933 to William Warnecke and Patricia Foley in Madison. Wava graduated from Edgewood High School and worked at Bancroft Dairy where she created many lifetime friendships and met the love of her life and future husband, Donald. Wava’s life revolved around raising her 4 children. She later worked at Tracor Northern until her retirement. Wava is survived by her sisters Patty Oscar and Mary Jane Martinez, her children, Mitchel (Gayle) Hanson, Dawn (Butch) Bunnell, and Kim (Greg) Lewis and 11 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband Donald and daughter Robin (Mark) Klabacka. A celebration of life will be held at a future date. The family thanks the staff of Prairie Gardens Assisted Living for their care and compassion.

We are so sorry to about your mother's passing. We knew her from Bancroft Dairy. Dave worked with both your Mom and Dad. A lot of fun Dairy parties and picnics.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Wanda's family during this difficult time. She was a classmate of ours at Edgewood we always enjoyed seeing her at our reunions, we were fortunate to have one of her delicious cakes served at one of them. May she rest in peace. What fond memories her friends from Tracor Northern have. Her heart was as big as the universe. Rest in Peace sweet Wava.

Wava was a kind, lighthearted, fabulously fun aunt and a great sister to our mom with an unforgettable sense of humor. She lived life with a dedicated work ethic along with her countless inspirational talents. Wava and Don will now be together again. Thank you for so many wonderful unforgettable memories Aunt Wava. You are forever missed xoxox

Wava (and Don) were my neighbors for nearly 25 years. She was such a lovely lady. I remember a number of Bancroft Dairy memories she'd tell me when we'd occasionally have lunch together. She'll be missed by many. Condolences to her family.

A great life indeed. A new St. Wava will be watching over all of her family. Made our wedding cake and was a great Aunt. Many fond memories. She introduced me to pizza when she worked at the Badger Drive Inn. So glad Wava and Don enjoyed their retirement in the beautiful home they built neat the Yahara River. Condolences to all of the Hanson children.

What fond memories I have as a little girl of Aunt Wava! My siblings and I thought the world of not only Wava, but your whole family. She was a treasure of talent and fun and love for all. Lots of love, Angelina
