Walter Nicholas Link, age, 95 passed away on November 10th, 2014. He was born on
February 21st, 1919, the son of Margaret (Scheuerell) and William Link. Walter married Audrey Brooks in 1945 and celebrated their 68th wedding anniversary in 2013.
Walter was a member Sacred Hearts of Mary and Jesus Catholic Church, Sun Prairie and was a member of the Catholic Order of Foresters. Walter graduated from the University of Wisconsin Short Course.
Walter grew up with all the benefits and pleasures of a small farming community of Hampden Township, Columbus. He enjoyed life in a simpler time with family and neighbors. Walter was an advertent outdoorsman; enjoying nature, fishing both winter, summer on lakes in Wisconsin, hunting, bowling, and watching Badger/Packer Games. You could always find Walter at an auction collecting vintage tools, license plates, and antique tractors.

Walter was preceded in death by his parents, Margaret & William Link, and spouse, Audrey, Dec 31st, 2013, and brother, Eugene Link.

Walter is survived by his 3 children, Jayne (John) Robertson, Steven (Linda) Link, Karla (Shawn) Meister, 5 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 21, 2014 at Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary Catholic Church, 227 Columbus Street, Sun Prairie, with Monsignor Duane Moellenberndt presiding. Burial will be in the Sacred Hearts Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until the time of Mass at the church on Friday. Walter's family would like to sincerely thank the staff of Columbia County Health Care Center for the compassionate care given their Father during the time he resided at the Care Center.
