Virginia L. Ott, age 78, passed away on Friday, January 20, 2017 at Larson House in Columbus. She was born on November 14, 1938 to Valerius and Georgia (Stang) Stroede in Madison. She married Wilmer “Bud” Ott on June 27, 1959 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in East Bristol.
Throughout her life Virginia enjoyed many hobbies. She was exceptionally creative and loved drawing, painting and sewing. Bowling was something she looked forward to weekly while she was able. Virginia was someone who fiercely loved her family and living life to the fullest, from Sunday softball games, family dinners, croquet, fishing, card games and dancing with her kids to her 45's. She was quite a women and she will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her husband Bud; children, Jennifer Squires, Laurie (Darryl) Link, Cynthia Ott (Loren Glasbrenner), Amy (David) Link, Joe (Lisa) Ott, Dan (Jean) Ott; grandchildren, Chris Coughlin, Caitlin Coughlin (Niels Peterson), Eric (Abigail) Coughlin, Matthew and Joshua Link, Ryan and Adam Link, Emma and Riley Severson, Samuel, Daniel, Chase, and Tyler Ott, Kiersten and Hayden Ott; step-grandchildren, Jason Squires, Tara (Todd) Dobberfuhl, Olivia and Natalie Severson; five great-grandchildren; brothers Tom and Michael Stroede; special friends Kay and Judy; and many other family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son Christopher; her in-laws Leo and Louisa Ott; brothers Eugene, George and Bob; a sister Audrey Hurd; her son-in-law Gary Squires.
A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, January 25, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Tuschen-Newcomer Funeral Home, 302 Columbus St., in Sun Prairie, Chaplain Dennis Richard will preside. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service Wednesday at the Funeral Home.
