Thomas Simon, age 78, passed away on Wednesday, November 19, 2014 at Agrace HospiceCare in Fitchburg. He was born on March 24, 1936 in Waunakee to Norman and Alvina (Keller) Simon.
Tom graduated from Sun Prairie High School in 1954 and then served his country in the U.S. Air Force from 1954 to 1959. He was also a graduate of Madison Business College. He was a longtime insurance agent and real estate broker and a former member of Sun Prairie Chamber of Commerce, Sun Prairie Rotary, Sun Prairie Jaycees, and the Endeavor Lions Club. He was also recognized as an “Outstanding Young Man of America” in his early years. Tom was a proud Packer shareholder and season ticket holder as well as a longtime Sun Prairie Cardinal supporter.
He is survived by his soul-mate of the last 20 years Judy Klahn; children Roger Simon, Appleton, Chris (Greg) Seltzner, Marshall, Cindy (Dave) Severson, Sun Prairie, Steve (Vera) Simon, Northwood, Ohio, Sandy (Chuck) Pellino, Cottage Grove, MN, T.J. Simon, Silverthorne, CO, and Doug (Kelsey) Simon, Plover; 4 grandchildren Nathan Severson, Brett Severson, Megan Pellino, and Austin Simon; and Judy's children Michelle (Jayson) Tran, Pete (Jackie) Klahn, Karen (Randy) Endres, and her 10 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother Don; and many aunts and uncles.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 24, 2014 at the Tuschen-Newcomer Funeral Home, 302 Columbus St. in Sun Prairie, with Father Steve Petrica presiding. Visitation will be Sunday, November 23, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Sacred Hearts Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established. He will be forever missed.
