Madison———-Steven Allen Scheel, age 60, passed away peacefully on April 24, 2024, surrounded by family and friends. He was born in Columbus on June 13, 1963.
Steve had a passion for volunteering and brought joy to many. He enjoyed attending concerts, fishing with no boundaries with his brother, and was a dedicated Green Bay Packers fan.
Steve’s presence will be deeply missed by his surviving family members including his daughters Codie & Ashley Peschl, six grandchildren; Kaylee, Jonathon, Justine, Lexilynn, Maxwell, and Zander. His stepfather Telford Anderson, three brothers; Donald Scheel, David (Brenda) Scheel, George Scheel, three sisters; Josephine Scranton, Susan Schimmel, Bonnie Scheel, and nieces, nephews and many family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Elizabeth (Renz) Anderson, father Donald Eugene Scheel, and grandmother Helen Renz.
Steve’s kindness and love for life touched the hearts of those around him, and his memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. Steve’s family would like to thank all the staff at Catholic Charities, Rise Up, and Agrace. Most of all a special thank you to Todd, Amir, Judy and Tom for your never-ending kindness and friendship to Steve.
A Celebration of Life Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 1, 2024 at the Tuschen-Newcomer Funeral Home, 302 Columbus Street in Sun Prairie.
