Russell Ernest Lorenz, age 79, passed away on Wednesday, July 5, 2023 at home. He was born on October 17, 1943 in Milwaukee, the son of Ernest and Marion Lorenz. Russ married Edith Wilcox on April 2, 1966 in Sun Prairie.
Russ worked in electronics for the US Air Force and the Federal Aviation Administration for a combined 33 years of government service. Russ was an avid aviator with thousands of hours and a wallet full of ratings. He also enjoyed music and played several instruments at the professional level. Russ thoroughly enjoyed pushing his Corvette to the limit and beyond.
Russ is survived by his wife of 57 years, Edith; Super granddaughter, Kyla Lorenz and daughter in-law Kari Lorenz; brother, Gregory (Judith) Lorenz; and nephew, Alexander Lorenz.
He is preceded in death by his Parents and son Stacey.
A service will be held on Tuesday, July 11, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Bristol Lutheran Church, 6835 Highway N, Sun Prairie. A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
