Ronald C. Zander, age 92, died on Friday May 12, 2023 at Oak Park Place in Madison. He was born on May 29, 1930 in Cross Plains and was the son of Joseph and Margaret (Laufenberg) Zander. He married Carol Bedner on October 27, 1953 at Sacred Hearts Catholic Church.
Ron farmed his whole life. He was on the Dane County Drainage Board and served many years on the Bristol Town Board.
He is survived by his wife Carol; children, Mike (Sandie) of Superior, Gary (Betty) of Sun Prairie, Diane (Dennis) Schraufnagel of Adell, Karen (Bob) Lange of Sun Prairie, Christine (Pete) Rieck of Madison; 14 grandchildren, Heather (Sean) Taylor, Heidi Zander, Mike (Courtney) Zander, Jason (Christina) Zander, Julia (Justus) Steckman, Katie (Nick) Schulz, Dusty Zander, Darrell (Kamilla) Schraufnagel, Dana Worden, Darcy (Matt) Thelen, Derrick Schraufnagel, Jon (Becky) Lange, Justin Lange and Samantha Rieck; 13 great grandchildren and 1 on the way; a sister Rita Heinz of East Troy; and a sister-in-law Carrie Ann Zander of Cross Plains

He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter Judy Schernecker and a son-in-law Eugene Schernecker; brothers, Vincent, Harland, Albert, LeRoy; sisters, Mary Ann and Charlotte

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 19, 2023 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in East Bristol with Rev. Jared Holzhuter presiding. Burial will be in the church cemetery. A visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services at the church. In lieu of flowers a Memorial fund will be established.
