Ronald L Gherke, age 65, passed away peacefully on Tuesday February 20, 2018 at home. He was born to Marlin and Evelyn (Kwapnioski) Gherke in Omaha, Nebraska on May 22, 1952. Ron married Karla Haarklau on May 29, 2009 in Sun Prairie.
Ron was a perfectionist who loved enhancing things, boating, camping, NASCAR, watching westerns, Badgers, keeping his car spotless, and Korbel and diet Pepsi with his family.
He is survived by his wife Karla; fur daughter Tipper; 2 sons, Shawn (Cydney) and Corey (Kristen); 1 sister Marlene (Ron); 2 brothers, Roy and Kevin (Shelly); grandchildren, Austyn, Aidyn, Tatum, Brooks and Kinley; niece Lisa (Dave); nephews Jason (Shannon), Craig (Kristi), Kyle and Kollin.
He was preceded in death by his parents; twin siblings Marlin Jr. and Judy; and sister-in-law Cheryl.
A Funeral Service will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Friday, February 23, 2018 at Tuschen-Newcomer Funeral Home, 302 Columbus St. in Sun Prairie. Monsignor Donn Heiar will preside. A visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home on Friday.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to “Lola's Lucky Day” pet rescue in Ron's name.
