Robert “Smitty” W. Smith, age 89, passed away on Wednesday, November 29, 2017, at his home. He was born on September 2, 1928 in Madison. He married his wife of 67 years Cleo Haberman on October 28, 1950 at Sacred Hearts Church.
He was assistant parts manager at Gilomen Truck and Equipment, and parts manager for McFarland Parts and Service/ Midwest Trailer Sales.
He is survived by his wife Cleo; 3 children, Robert (Carol), Douglas (Mary) and Denise Emanuel; 1 granddaughter Heather (Eddie) Nagel.
He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 brothers, Donald and Clayton; and son-in-law Jay Emanuel.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, December 4, 2017, at Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary Catholic Church, 227 Columbus Street in Sun Prairie. Father Savio Yerasani will preside. Burial will be at Sun Prairie Memory Gardens. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass at the church on Monday. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Agrace HospiceCare.
