Robert Colwell passed away Friday February 7, 2014 at Prairie Gardens in Sun Prairie. He was the son of Lyndon and Audrey (Semmens) Colwell born on January 24, 1939 at Divine Savior Hospital in Portage, Wisconsin. He graduated from Rio High School in 1957 and from Milton College in 1961. He married Mynetta “Mickey” Duscheck on July 30, 1960 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Doylestown WI. He worked for Harry Waisman at the Waisman Center for much of his professional career doing research and preforming tests for metabolic diseases. He loved the outdoors, fishing, hunting and cutting wood as well as collecting tractors and antiques from local auctions.
He is survived by his loving wife Mickey; his daughter Lynnette (Brent) Roshell, their sons Jacob and Matthew; his son Curt, his daughter Lindsay, his special friend Jackie Catania and her daughters Chelsea and Ashley; his brother Donald; sister-in-laws Barbara and Kathy; nieces and nephews and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Gerald Colwell.
Special thanks to Lori Klemmer Hensler who helped to take care of him these past months as well as Nurses Ashley and Dawn from Home Health United. Thanks as well to the entire staff of Prairie Gardens for their love and care this past month.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 p.m. on Friday, February 14, 2014 at Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary Catholic Church, 227 Columbus Street in Sun Prairie with Father Vince Brewer presiding. Burial will be in Sacred Hearts Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Thursday, February 13, 2014 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Tuschen-Newcomer Funeral Home 302 Columbus St. in Sun Prairie, and from 9:30 a.m. until the time of Mass at the Church on Friday. In lieu of flowers memorials can be given to Sacred Hearts Building and Grounds Fund or Wisconsin Parkinson's Association.
