Robert “Doc” Sartori, age 83, passed away on Thursday, July 25, 2012 at Hyland Park in Sun Prairie. He was born in 1930 and was the son of Anthony and Irene (Fehr) Sartori. He married Shirley M. Kolowrat on August 8, 1953 at St. Joseph's Church in Kendall.
He graduated from University of Minnesota Veterinary School in 1957. He worked in Lake Mills for 6 years and moved to Sun Prairie to start the Sun Prairie Vet Clinic. Doc retired in 2007. He was a 4th Degree member of the Sun Prairie Knights of Columbus #4879 and Past Grand Knight.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley; his children, Gregory of Santa Barbara, CA, Thomas (Lillian) of Granada Hills, CA, Mary of Peoria, AZ, Carol (Thomas) of Seattle, WA, Edward of Hollywood, CA, Timothy of Sun Prairie, Rose Leversha of Chicago, IL, and James (Lori) of San Francisco, CA; 5 grandchildren, Wesley, Wayne, Emerald, Patrick and Charlie; a brother James (Joan) of Elroy, William (Patti) of Kenosha; a sister Eleanora Revels of Mt. Horeb.
He was preceded in death by his parents and infant twin sons, John and Joseph.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 29, 2013 at Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary Catholic Church, 227 Columbus Street in Sun Prairie. Monsignor Duane Moellenberndt will preside. Burial will be at Sacred Hearts Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 3 to 6 p.m. on Sunday, July 28, 2013 at the Tuschen-Newcomer Funeral Home, 302 Columbus Street in Sun Prairie and from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass at the church on Monday. The family suggests in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Sacred Hearts, The Knights of Columbus or HospiceCare Inc.
