Richard Robert McCourt, age 85, loving husband and father was called home to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, June 29, 2014 at St. Mary's Hospital in Madison.
He was born on May 13, 1929 in Fond du Lac and was the son of Sherman and Laura (Spieckerman) McCourt. He was married to Elaine Elizabeth Wagner on June 18, 1955 in Waterloo, WI.
Richard served in the Army Intelligence Division during the Korean War. He was a guidance counselor for Moraine Park Technical College in Fond du Lac for over 25 years. Richard served as coach, board member and president of the Fond du Lac Little League Baseball Association for many years. He was an avid golfer and bowler. Richard was an active member of Hope Lutheran Church in Fond du Lac and currently a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Sun Prairie.
He is survived by his wife Elaine; children, Larry (Sarah) of Centennial CO, Jim (Caroline) of Sun Prairie, Chuck (Pat) of Midland, MI, and Craig (Shirley) of Eden Prairie, MN; sisters Marion Rieckman of Neenah, Shirley Horning of Fond du Lac and Alice Senske of Sioux City, IA; and brother Charles (Ruth) McCourt of North Fond du Lac; 10 grandchildren and 2 great-grandsons with another due in August.
He was preceded in death by his parents and infant son Keith.

A Funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 5, 2014 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 300 Broadway Dr. in Sun Prairie with Pastor Charlie Brandt presiding. A visitation will be held on Saturday, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the Church. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to Bethlehem Lutheran Church.
