Richard C. King, age 74 passed away on Saturday, June 30, 2012 at St. Mary's Hospital in Madison. He was born March 17, 1938 in Stevens Point and was the son of Charles and Mary (Nemeth) King. Dick graduated from P.J. Jacobs High School in 1956 in Stevens Point. He graduated from Madison Business College and worked for Wisconsin Central Center and Mendota Mental Health. He married Ann Marie Jesberger on November 8, 1958. He retired in 1994. He also worked for 50 years at Wisconsin Football games. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, was an avid Badger, Packer and Brewer fan. He also enjoyed bowling, horseshoes, fishing, traveling, playing cards and watching his grandchildren's sporting events.
He is survived by his wife, Ann Marie; 4 children, Michael (Lynn) King of Sun Prairie, Julie (Randy) Dahmen of Waunakee, Patrick (Sue) King of Waunakee, Susan (Mike) Culbertson of Sun Prairie; 8 grandchildren, Lisa King and Laura (Brian) Gaumont, Kara, Kyle and Kimberly Dahmen, Austin and Lane King and Nolan Culbertson. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, cousins, brothers-in-law, and sisters-in-law.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 3, 2012 at St. Albert the Great Catholic Church, 2420 St. Albert Drive in Sun Prairie. Monsignor Terrence Connors will preside. Burial will be in Sun Prairie Memory Gardens. A visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Monday, July 2, 2012 at the Tuschen-Newcomer Funeral Home, 302 Columbus St. in Sun Prairie and from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the church. In his memory, memorials can be made to St. Albert the Great Catholic Church or a charity of your choice
