Paul L Miller, age 65, of Sun Prairie passed away on Thursday, October 21 at his lake home in Manawa, WI. He was born on August 12, 1956 in Manawa, WI to Lester and Irma (Savage) Miller. Paul attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where he met his future wife, Susan Schuster. Together they had two daughters and settled in Wisconsin Rapids for many years. He worked as an engineer at several dairy processing facilities until his retirement from Grande Cheese in 2015.
Paul spent his retirement years living his best life: spending time at Bear Lake, managing the family hunting land, sending out frequent Manawa wildlife reports to family, hunting, and fishing. He also loved playing sheepshead and euchre and experimenting with new recipes. He was an avid naturalist and enjoyed attempting to grow milkweed just about everywhere, gardening and canning with his wife, and going on hiking trips with his daughters.
Paul was a helper who was always there to provide support and advice, and if he didn’t have any advice, he would be sure to do some research and get back to you. He will also be fondly remembered for his patient and dedicated care of his stepmother Lucille and father-in-law Gene in the years before their passing.
Paul is survived by his wife, Sue; his daughters, Amanda and Melissa; his siblings, Harvey and DeeDee Miller, Sally and Dale Miller, Joyce and Rick Bauer, Fred and Kris Miller, Loretta Miller, Horace Rackley, David (Stubby) and Ruth Schuster, Linda and Jon Minor, Michael and Lisa Schuster, Steve and Beth Schuster, Karen Schuster, and Beverly and Chris Speece; many nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lester and Irma Miller; his stepmother, Lucille Miller; and his siblings, Tom Miller, Susan Rackley, and Audrey Miller.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 30 at St. Albert the Great Catholic Church, 2420 St. Albert Drive in Sun Prairie . The visitation will be from 9 a.m. until the time of service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Wisconsin Public Radio or the Nature Conservancy.
