Patricia “Patty” L. Bollig (Bork) passed away in her home on Saturday, August 27th, 2016 after an 11 month battle with cancer. She was 59. Patty was born on April 26th, 1957 in Cottage Grove, WI to her parents, Vernon and Rita Bork. She graduated from Monona Grove High School in 1975. She married William “Bill” Bollig in 1977, and together established their home in Sun Prairie, WI. Patty was a dedicated clerical worker for the State of Wisconsin for 34 years. She retired in 2013.
Patty was a loving and caring mother of two children, Casey and Carly. She had a passion for creativity and enjoyed various crafting projects, quilting, and baking. Patty always found a way to put others before herself, and inspired many during her battle with cancer. Her loving smile, contagious laugh, beautiful art, and delicious baked goods will be sorely missed.
Patty is survived by her husband of 39 years, Bill; son and daughter-in-law, Casey and Teagan of Stoughton, WI; daughter and son-in-law, Carly and Tyler of Madison, WI; mother, Rita of Cottage Grove, WI; mother-in-law, Beatrice of Sun Prairie, WI; sisters: Donna of Hancock, WI, Linda (Chuck) of Sun Prairie, WI, Bonnie of Cottage Grove, WI, Barb (Dan) of Janesville, WI, Mary (Lonn) of Adams, WI, Lynette (Andy) of Marshall, WI; brothers: Dennis (Anne) of Cottage Grove, WI, Steven of Cottage Grove, WI; brothers-in-law: Dick (Deb) of Cottage Grove, WI, Don (Connie) of Sun Prairie, WI, Chuck (Linda) of Sun Prairie, WI, Joe of Cottage Grove, WI, Fred (Kathy) of Wisconsin Dells, WI; sister-in-law Joyce (Rick) of Monona, WI; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Patty is preceded in death by her father, Vernon; father-in-law, Edward; sister Diane, brothers-in-law Harold and Bob; sister-in-law Karen; nephew Keith; niece, Kelly; great-niece, Emily; and a number of aunts, uncles, cousins and family friends.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 6th from 5-8pm at Tuschen-Newcomer Funeral Home in Sun Prairie. A prayer service for immediate family will precede visitation at 4:30pm. Additional visitation time will be provided from 10-11am on September 7th at Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary Church to be immediately followed by funeral services at 11am. A procession from Sacred Hearts to Sun Prairie Memory Gardens will take place for burial. Everyone is welcome to join in a celebration of life luncheon at The Round Table in Sun Prairie immediately following the burial.
