I miss you so much my dear father. We have so many precious memories of our last few years with you. You have always been a strong hold for our family. Your last few years were so hard on you. I thank God that you can now truly rest i Christ and be free of all pain and memory problems. See you some day in heaven. I love you

Growing up in Las Vegas, I was at Norman and Sarah's house almost every other day, Sundays, and most Christmases. I have very fond memories of Norman and he was the only Grandpa that I really ever new. Going to his house for dinner I remember that he would come home from working at Timet, sit down at the kitchen table and have his 1 beer, no more, no less. It was a Coors, tab top. He would then take a nap for 30 minutes until supper was ready. We would eat and then off he would go to the garage to tinker around with something. It was always a treat to accompany him to the garage. He even helped me make my derby car for cub scouts. About 7:30 or 8 p.m. he would come in and watch the news or a Lawrence Welk episode. When he retired he had no excuse to drink his 1 beer anymore. So he was able to have one once a week after he mowed the lawn. Then, he replaced the lawn with gravel. By this time I was married and in the Marine Corps. The wife and I would try to make it to his house as much as possible. We were always asked what we wanted for dinner but Norman would promptly say, "Pizza" and chuckle. This was his only way, at that time, to have his 1 beer and I was able to share one with him. His boat, his camper, and his travels were all rich parts of his life and I am glad I was able to partake in some of these memories with him. My wife, Karem and I will surely miss him and all of the wonderful times at 131 Maple... God bless him, all of his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Dave Beall

I knew 'Uncle Bud' as my father's [Elmer] youngest brother, a man I admired and respected. I remember Norman as a kind no-nonsense sort of guy, who always greeted me with a friendly smile and kind words. He somehow managed to find some obscure piece of 'junk' to give to my father, who added it to his other 'treasures' every time they got together. Norman and my father always had a difficult time saying 'goodbye' after their visits, which I, correctly, understood as the love they had for each other. Their generation was truly the greatest gift in my lifetime.

Norm was our neighbor in Madison. He lived with his daughter Kathy and her husband, Gary in the apartment next to ours which is how we got to know him. He was such a kind, gentle and oh, so polite man that you couldn't help but like him as soon as you met him. Norm's love for God and his family is a bright beacon in a sometimes dark world. He is a good example of Mather 5:16 "Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven." We will remember him as one of the nicest men we have had the privilege of knowing, even if only for a short while. He will be missed.
