Murriel Loew, age 86, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 24, 2023 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Madison. She was born on December 19, 1936 in Ashland and was the daughter of John and Barbara Hust. She married George Loew on December 26, 1958. Murriel shared many joys in her life. A love for church; attending services at Scared Hearts, family, friends, work and trips to Branson or the next family reunion. Throughout the years she held many jobs, a factory line worker, caring for her children and others, data entry, customer service and finishing off her career serving as a mail sorter for the U.S Postal Service where she retired from. Murriel also had a soft spot for dogs, having them all the way up until she moved into assisted living two years ago. Murriel will always be remembered for all of the crafting that she did. She couldn’t wait to pick up the latest and greatest crafting. Early on it was Artex painting, Ukranian egg decorating and crocheting. Crocheting baby blankets for the newest additions of the family continued as her family grew. She picked up on hobbies that her grandchildren were into such as scrapbooking and diamond dotting. In addition to all of the time she spent crafting, you could find her reading a good book on occasion, or among the slot machines with her friends and family. We will greatly miss Murriel every day. Her memory will live on in her loved ones hearts.
She is survived by her children, William (Sally) Gurske, Lynn (Kenny) Stegmann, Randy (Eileen) Loew, Robert (Suzanne) Loew, Samantha Loew; 13 grandchildren; many great grandchildren and several great great grandchildren; and a brother Gene (Jean).
She was preceded in death by her parents; son Scott; husband; a brother John Jr.
