Mary R. Vaughan, age 69 passed away peacefully in the presence of her family on Wednesday, May 4, 2011 at Meriter Hospital in Madison. She was born on August 7, 1941 in Madison and was the daughter of John and Frances (Feltzkowski) Bartosch. She married Pat Vaughan on November 26, 1960 at Sacred Hearts Catholic Church. Mary loved gardening, winters in Texas and adored her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband Pat; 2 daughters Kathy (Jeff) Abraham of Sun Prairie, Christine (Kevan) Dick of Ponder, Texas; 3 grandchildren, Amanda (Kyle Kaja) Abraham, Matthew Abraham both of Sun Prairie, Bradley Dick of Ponder, Texas; a sister Donna Hellenbrand of Marshall, a brother Steve (Leslie) Bartosch of Sun Prairie and also nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
She was preceded in death by parents, brother-in-law Herbert Hellenbrand; and a nephew Herbert Hellenbrand Jr.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 10, 2011 at Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary Catholic Church, 227 Columbus Street in Sun Prairie with Monsignor Duane Moellenberndt presiding. Burial will be in Sacred Hearts Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. on Monday, May 9, 2011 at the Tuschen-Newcomer Funeral Home, 302 Columbus Street in Sun Prairie and from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the church on Tuesday. A prayer service will be held at 7:45 p.m. on Monday. The family suggests in lieu of flowers memorials can be made to Sacred Hearts School Endowment Fund. The family would like to thank Dr Michael Huie and Dr. Laura Kuhn and the wonderful staff at U.W. Health and Meriter Hospital.
