Marvin G. Thompson, age 85 passed away on Monday, January 28, 2013 at Divine Savior Hospital in Portage. He was born on October 17, 1927 in Sun Prairie and was the son of George and Anna (Steinfeldt) Thompson. He married Patricia Blaschka on September 25, 1948 at Sacred Hearts Catholic Church. She preceded him in death in 1986. He married Rachel Larson on November 7, 1987. She preceded him in death in 2001. Marvin delivered Meals on Wheels for many years to the Colonial Club in Sun Prairie. He worked for Badger Dairy and Olson Implement in sales and service.

He is survived by his 4 children, Kenneth (Sandy) Thompson of Seattle, WA, Dennis (Jayne) Thompson of Cottage Grove, Gary (Sharon) Thompson of Waunakee, Dawn (Mark) Reierson of Rio; 4 grandchildren, Nicole, Erica and Trevor Reierson, Jennifer (Charles Bergren) Thompson; 2 great grandchildren, Braxton and Bradley; 6 step-grandchildren, Tommy Ball, Keith (Karin) Ball, Alyssa (Steven) Rahmlow, Cassandra Coopman, Kristina Coopman, Jameson Coopman
He was preceded in death by his parents; 1st wife Patricia, 2nd wife Rachel Larson; a brother Norman Thompson and a sister Ruth Nellen.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 2, 2013 at Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary Catholic Church, 227 Columbus Street in Sun Prairie. Father John Silva will preside. Burial will be in the Sun Prairie Memory Gardens Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. on Friday, February 1, 2013 at the Tuschen-Newcomer Funeral Home, 302 Columbus St. in Sun Prairie and from 9:45 till 10:45 on Saturday at the funeral home.
