Marion P. Pirozzoli, age 88, passed away on Thursday, December 22, 2016, at her home. She was born to Frank and Anna (Kowalczyk) Mikulsky on April 20, 1928, in Pine Grove, Wisconsin. She married Frederick O. Pirozzoli on April 14, 1956, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Waukesha.
Marion graduated from Green Bay East High School in 1946. In 1950, she graduated from the College of St. Scholastica in Duluth, Minnesota with a Bachelor of Arts in Medical Records and Sociology. She worked as a medical records librarian at Waukesha Memorial Hospital and as an outreach support person at the Colonial Club. Over the years, she volunteered countless hours at the food pantry, Luke House, and for Sacred Hearts Parish.
Marion was a special person to many. Raised on a dairy farm near Green Bay, she learned from an early age the values of faith, family, and a strong work ethic. Her compassionate and giving ways, tireless spirit, and kind heart were an inspiration to those around her. She loved being surrounded by family and sharing the joys of their lives. Following the death of her husband in 1991, she continued to care for her beloved daughter Margaret with unwavering devotion for the rest of her life.
She is survived by her five children, Michael (Karen) of St. Paul, MN, Mary (Bruce) Iverson of Madison, Margaret Pirozzoli of Sun Prairie, Janet (Paul) Peyla of Elkridge, MD, and James (Marga) of Arlington, VA; by her 11 grandchildren, Lisa (Andy), Gina, Joe, Marco, James, Anna, John, Sophia, Gabriella, Francesca, and Frederick; by her two great-grandchildren, Lucy and Jack; and by her four sisters, Arlene Hasseler of DePere, Marjorie (Robert) Wallenfang of Green Bay, Beatrice (Lawrence) Moens of Green Bay, and Theresa Maldonado of Des Moines, IA.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband Fred, her infant son Mark Edward, and her brother Richard.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 30, 2016, at Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary Catholic Church, 221 Columbus Street, Sun Prairie; Monsignor Duane Moellenberndt will preside. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 29, 2016, at Tuschen-Newcomer Funeral Home, 302 Columbus St. in Sun Prairie, and from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass on Friday at the Church. Burial will be at Sacred Hearts Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Sacred Hearts Endowment Fund or Agrace HospiceCare.
