Marilyn Trewartha, age 77, died on Monday, July 13, 2015 at Agrace HospiceCare in Fitchburg. She was born on August 11, 1937 in Madison to Arthur and Thea (Lyster) Kruse. Marilyn married Jay Trewartha on June 27, 1959 at Peace Lutheran Church in Sun Prairie.
Marilyn was a registered nurse at various Madison hospitals and retired from Central Wisconsin Center in 1997. She was very active in her church, loved and enjoyed her grandchildren,was an expert at quilting, and enjoyed gardening.
Marilyn is survived by her 3 children, Craig, of Pardeeville, David (Angela) of Fort Myers, FL, and Karen (Dan) Nuthals of Huntington Beach, CA; 5 grandchildren, Calvin, Hailey and Melanie Nuthals, and Jason and Sydney Trewartha; 2 sisters, Audrey Cooper of Sun Prairie and Kathryn (Timothy) Betz of Waunakee; and many nieces and nephews.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her husband; parents; grandson D.J. Trewartha; and a brother John Kruse.
A Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 17, 2015 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 300 Broadway Dr. in Sun Prairie with Pastor Charlie Brandt presiding. A visitation will be held on Thursday, July 16, 2015 from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Tuschen-Newcomer Funeral Home 302 Columbus St., Sun Prairie, and from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the church on Friday.

I will always remember Marilyn as the cousin who I felt was my older sister. We had so many things in common we discovered as we travel around doing art fairs. She was hard working, thoughtful, and very kind. She had a great sense of humor and was fun loving. She always wanted to do the right thing. David and Angie, thank you so much for welcoming my mother and me to your home and for the kind hospitality you showed us. I have enjoyed seeing children growing and will miss not seeing them the day of your Mother's funeral. I know that Marilyn really loved them and wanted to be close to them. Karen and Dan thank you for the many times you hosted us in your home in Wausau. It was always a happy time that we spent with you. You have done such a good job with your children and I know Marilyn was very proud of them and their accomplishments. Craig I'm sorry I didn't get to know you better. I am profoundly saddened by Marilyn's sudden passing. I always enjoyed our conversations over the many decades we shared. Family connections were always very important to Marilyn, and the last time she visited the farm with her siblings and cousins I remember as being a very special time for all of us.
