Margaret Mary Chase, age 92, passed away on Thursday, March 28, 2013 at the Sun Prairie HealthCare Center. She was born on April 28, 1920 in Franklin Township, Sauk County and was the daughter of Joseph and Mary (Laubmeier) Dischler. Margaret owned and operated Margaret's Midway Bar for 50 years. She was a member of Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary Parish and a member of the St. Ann Society. She was a woman of great pride, as she raised a family and ran a business, and managed to make ends meet. Everyone who knew Margaret knew where they stood from the first time they met her. Her generosity was conveyed in many ways.
She is survived by her 3 children, Joe (Kathy), Mary Chase, Neal (Dawn Fish) all of Sun Prairie; 2 step children, Shirley Benisch of Viroqua; Alan (Suzanne) Chase of Milton, OR; 4 grandchildren, Adam, Corey, Cameron and Alyssa; a brother Simon (Mary Jane) Dischler of North Freedom; and a sister, Clara Ruegsegger of South Wayne; step grandchildren and step great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her parents; step daughter Carol Mack; brothers Thomas, Charles and Lucas and sisters, infant Bernadine Dischler, Lucy Gruber, Genevieve Bindl, Agnes Berget, Elizabeth Liegel, Theresa Brown and Sr. Clara Dischler, O.P.
Visitation will be held at Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary Catholic Church, 227 Columbus St. in Sun Prairie, Monday, April 1, beginning at 3:00 p.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 5 p.m. Monsignor Duane Moellenberndt will preside. Interment will take place at the church cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Sacred Hearts School Endowment fund.
