Marcella Baumer

Marcella L. Baumer, age 93 passed away on Saturday, April 30, 2011 at Prairie Gardens Assisted Living in Sun Prairie. Marcella loved her family and her town. She was a devout Catholic and long time member of Sacred Hearts Catholic Church. She was born on July 9, 1917 in Hewitt, WI. Marcella married the love of her life, Mike in 1942. They lived in Marshfield until 1958 then moved their family to Sun Prairie where she was a homemaker most of her life. Marcella was a talented crafter and an excellent baker. She loved playing her piano, and was an active member of St. Anne’s Circle. She is survived by her 5 daughters, Dianne Hazen, Janet Davison, Verjean Conklin, Carol McCauley, Michele DeRungs; 15 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and a sister Evelyn Milich.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 4, 2011 at Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary Catholic Church, 227 Columbus Street in Sun Prairie with Father John Putzer presiding. Burial will be in Sun Prairie Memory Gardens. A visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until 12:45 p.m. on Wednesday, May 4, 2011 at the Tuschen-Newcomer Funeral Home, 302 Columbus Street in Sun Prairie with funeral to follow at church. With Marcella’s great strength and resilience, she lived a long and bountiful life.
