Lois J. Renz, age 83 passed away on Friday, January 1, 2016 at the Lighthouse in Sun Prairie. She was born on September 20, 1932 in Madison and was the daughter of Kenneth and Georgia (Helmenstein) Harvey. She married Francis Renz on December 29, 1951 at Sacred Hearts Catholic Church. Lois was a graduate of the Whitewater College. She loved teaching elementary school for 30 years at Sacred Hearts School in Sun Prairie. She enjoyed family, holidays, hiking, traveling, cross country skiing, bike riding, parks, picnics, writing stories. She enjoyed going to Bible studies with Francis. Lois trusted in God daily and in her Savior, Jesus Christ.
She is survived by her husband, Francis; 2 daughters Jean (Erik Sitts) Gray of Deerfield, Francine (Steven) Tate of DeForest; 2 grandchildren Ryan (Andrea) Gray, Tyler (Jen Fahrenholtz) Gray, 7 great grandchildren Reagan, Avery, Mary, Jameson, Ethan, Colby and Hannah.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, January 6, 2016 at Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary Catholic Church, 227 Columbus Street, Sun Prairie. Monsignor Duane Moellenberndt will preside. Burial will be at Sacred Hearts Cemetery. A visitation will be held at the Tuschen-Newcomer Funeral Home, 302 Columbus St. in Sun Prairie from 9:30 a.m. until 11:15 a.m. on Wednesday.
The family suggests in lieu of flowers; memorials can be made to Sacred Hearts School Endowment Fund.
