In Loving Memory of Linda Hesgard
of Orfordville, born on March 13, 1945, in Beloit, peacefully departed this world on November 14, surrounded by her family in the comfort of her home. She was the beloved spouse of Charles B. Hesgard, sharing 60 years of marriage since their union on April 20, 1963, at Orfordville Lutheran Church.
Linda’s life was a tapestry woven with love, family, and a deep sense of community. She graduated from Orfordville High School and went on to become a dedicated and cherished member of the Orfordville Lutheran Church.
Family meant everything to Linda. Her children, Tammy, Rodney (Michele), Cheryl (Steve), daughter-in-law Mary, and the late Robert were the center of her world. Linda leaves a legacy of love and laughter through her grandchildren, Zachary, Danielle (Nathan), Breanna (Corey), Cole (Nick), Aaron (Emily), Mackenzie (Cody), and great-grandchildren Ella, Rori, Lillianna, Bailey, Rae, Stella, and Olivia.
She was preceded in death by her parents Shirl Sr. and Pearl Laube, siblings Sandy Schaitel, Norma J. Short, Rose Laube, Nancy Laube, and David Laube, along with brother-in-law Dave Schaitel and sister-in-law Jo Laube. Linda is survived by her siblings Shirl Jr. (Nancy), Leslie, Larry, Tarry (Cindy), Jerry (Karen), and Judy Laube.
Linda’s warm embrace extended beyond her immediate family to include cherished extended family members, Tom Short, Karl (Amy) Allen, Wendy (Carl) Langer, Julie Pippin, Cathy Laube, and many more friends and relatives.
Her life was a testament to dedication and service. Linda served as Plymouth 4-H Board President, Foods Leader, Clothing Leader, and Dairy Leader. She also shared her passion for faith as a Sunday School Teacher and served as Church Council Treasurer.
Professionally, Linda contributed over 23 years to the Parkview School District in addition to roles at Royal Blue Grocery in Orfordville, Panoramic in Janesville, and J.C. Penney in Janesville. Her retirement marked the end of a chapter filled with hard work, commitment, and the love she poured into everything she did.
Grandma Hesgard’s world revolved around sporting events, school programs, and anything her grandchildren and great-granddaughters were involved in. And known for her knack for fixing things and her sentimentality, Linda’s home was a haven of warmth and love.
In addition to her commitment to family and community, Linda found joy in her hobbies, including knitting, crocheting, quilting, sudoku, and sewing. These skills were just a glimpse into the creative and nurturing spirit that defined her.
In honoring Linda Hesgard’s memory, let us remember her as a woman of strength, kindness, and unwavering love. She leaves behind a legacy that will forever echo in the hearts of those she touched.
