Linda E. Thompson, age 70, passed away from lung disease surrounded by her family at Agrace Hospice in Janesville on Sunday, June 17, 2018. She was born on July 14, 1947 to Arnold and Lillian (Nelsen) Seldal. She married Gary Thompson on August 26, 1967.
Linda was a stay at home mom, while also running a daycare. She worked for the Village of Merrimac. She then worked at several manufacturing places and retired from Teel Plastics. In her down time she enjoyed sewing, knitting, gardening, canning and cooking and her specialty was doting on her grandchildren.
She is survived by her mother, Lillian Seldal of Pardeeville; children, Brenda (Bert) West of Lodi, Julie (Chris Larrabee) Thompson of Lodi, Scott (Jennifer) Thompson of Merrimac, Beth (Brian) Long of Merrimac; 6 grandchildren, Justin (Melinda), Megan, Hailey, Collin, Garret and Vinny; and 1 great-grandchild Austin; a sister, Vivian (Ronald) Maurer of Columbus also many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Gary; father Arnold; in-laws, Neil, Tony and Tracie.
A Funeral Service will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Monday, June 25, 2018 Immanuel Lutheran Church, Merrimac. Pastor John Ruppenthal will preside. Burial will be held at Oak Hill Cemetery in Merrimac. A visitation will be held from 2:30 p.m. until the time of service at the church on Monday.
