McFarland-
Leo T. Halpin, age 81, passed away on Monday, January 15, 2024 in Madison. He was born on June 16, 1942 to Leo and Katherine (Collins) Halpin in Everett, MA. Leo married Dianne Cardella on September 12, 1964 in South Weymouth, MA.
Leo was a dedicated family man who had a passion for golfing, especially with his grandson Ryan. He looked forward to taking yearly Canadian fishing trips with Ryan and good friends. Leo was a lifelong Dallas Cowboy fan, and an avid Boston Red Sox enthusiast. He was an active member of the Monona Serenity Club.
He is survived by: his wife, Dianne; daughter Kimberlee (Gary) Frederick of Sun Prairie; two grandchildren, Allie of Cincinnati, OH and Ryan of Madison; and his brother Paul (Linda) Halpin of Middleboro, MA.
Leo was preceded in death by his parents.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, January 24, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Sacred Hearts Catholic Church, 229 Columbus St. Sun Prairie, with Fr. Vince Brewer and Monsignor Duane Moellenberndt presiding. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 23, 2024, from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at Tuschen-Newcomer Funeral Home, 302 Columbus St., Sun Prairie and at the church on Wednesday, from 10 a.m. until the time of Mass.
