Lawrence S. Tonstad, age 87 passed away on Sunday, January 3, 2016 at Kindred Hearts in Sun Prairie. He was born on September 29, 1928 in Hayward and was the son of Sigurd and Bernadine (Curd) Tonstad. He married Mary Davis on February 29, 1954.
Larry served in the U.S. Army and worked over 30 years for the Post Office in Madison. He was a Packer and NASCAR fan, who also enjoyed crossword puzzles. Larry was also a member of Lakeview Moravian Church.
He is survived by his 4 children Mike (Suzi), Edgerton, Rick (Judy), Stoughton, Barb Kahl, Belleville, and Kevin, Edgerton; 15 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife; and parents.
A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, January 8, 2016, at 11 a.m. at Lakeview Moravian Church, 3565 Tulane Ave., Madison. Pastor Staci Marrese-Wheeler will preside. Burial will be at Roselawn Memorial Park. A visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the church on Friday. Larry's family would like to extend a special thanks to Larry Gene Davis and Ellen McDermott for all the care they provided. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established.
