Kellan C. Meinke, age 6, passed away on Monday, August 28, 2017, at home in his mother's arms surrounded by family after a long illness. Though his entire 6 years were filled with sickness and pain, his superhero perseverance and strength never failed to shine through. He was born in Watertown on February 11, 2011 and was the son of Jesse and Vanessa (Van Boxtel) Meinke.
He is survived by his parents; 2 sisters, Khalela and Ashlin; maternal grandparents James and Christina Van Boxtel; paternal grandparents Kevin and Louise Meinke; paternal great grandparents Mary Ann Meinke; maternal great grandparents Joseph and Dolores Van Boxtel, as well as many Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, and Friends.
Kellan's family would like to extend their deep heartfelt gratitude to the staff at the American Family Children's Hospital and Agrace Hospice for their exceptional care.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 6, 2017 at Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary Catholic Church, 227 Columbus Street in Sun Prairie. Monsignor Duane Moellenberndt will preside. Burial will be at Sacred Hearts Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 5, 2017 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Sacred Hearts Catholic Church and from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass at the church on Wednesday. In lieu of flower memorials a memorial fund will be established.
