Katharine “Kay” E. Krebs, age 83, passed away on April 24, 2014 at Agrace HospiceCare in Fitchburg. She was born on April 28, 1930 in Sun Prairie and was the daughter of Clemens and Edith (Phillips) Batz. She married Paul Krebs on July 11, 1950 at Sacred Hearts Catholic Church in Sun Prairie. She worked for her dad at Batz Seed Farm until she raised her family. Kay worked side by side with her husband Paul on their family farm and for Bristol Town Insurance
She is survived by 2 daughters Sue Krebs (Kevin Crowns) of Sun Prairie and Pauline (Jim Wagner) of Madison; 1 son Bruce (Helen) of Sun Prairie; 2 special grandchildren Ryan and Justin; a brother Clem (Mary) Batz of Sun Prairie; sisters-in-law, Bette Krebs and Mary Sheehan of Sun Prairie; and a brother-in-law John (Audrey) Krebs of Sun Prairie and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Paul in 1997 and a brother G. Allan and her aunts Zita, Regina, Prisca and Coletta Batz.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday, April 26, 2014 at Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary Catholic Church, 227 Columbus Street in Sun Prairie with Father Vince Brewer presiding. Burial will be held at Sacred Hearts Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 11:45 a.m at the Tuschen-Newcomer Funeral Home, 302 Columbus Street in Sun Prairie on Saturday, April 26, 2014.
The family suggests in lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Sacred Hearts School Endowment Fund Fund or Agrace HospiceCare.
