Joyce Gertrude Kjorlie Bohling, age 88, of Sun Prairie, passed away March 1, 2024
She was born on August 2, 1935 in Prairie Du Sac, the daughter of Tharsilla and Melvin Kjorlie Sr. She was schooled in West Point Township and graduated from Lodi high school. She worked at Division of Corrections, Children and Youth, Air National Guard, and retired from U.W. Madison Chemistry Department.
She was a lover of birds, an avid volunteer, and enjoyed playing bingo with her friends and spending time with her family.
Joyce is survived by three daughters; Sandy (Garth) Fredenberg, Linda Churchill, Jessica (Randy) Ruplinger; one son David (Heidi) Bohling; twelve grandchildren, Faustina Bohling, Lucas (Patty) Lugo, Marie (Josh) Hoffman, Josh (Carrie) Bohling, Heather Bohling, Hunter Bohling, Zach Bohling, Callie Churchill, Sam Churchill, Trevor Ruplinger, Kayla Ruplinger, Emily Ruplinger; eleven great grandchildren. Joyce is also survived by sister-in law Sally Kjorlie.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Rita (Vince) Peterson, and Janice McWilliams; and four brothers, Marcel (Sally) Kjorlie, Melvin (Alice) Kjorlie Jr., Jerry Kjorlie, and Tom Kjorlie.
A visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday, March 7, 2024 at Tuschen-Newcomer Funeral Home, 302 Columbus Street in Sun Prairie. A private burial will be held at Sun Prairie Memory Gardens.
