Joseph M. Provenzano, Age 68, went home to the Lord on Monday, September 3, 2012 from a short battle with an aggressive form of lymphoma. Joe passed away peacefully surrounded by his wife and children. He was born on December 26th, 1943. Joe graduated from Edgewood High School in Madison, WI in 1961, and the University of Wisconsin Platteville in 1966. Joe married Judy Klubertanz on December 30, 1967 at Sacred Hearts Catholic Church. He served in the Army Reserves Medical unit at Fort Leonard Wood, MO. Joe played and coached Home Talent baseball for Sun Prairie, volunteered a great deal of his time coaching his children's athletic teams, organized fund raisers for Sacred Heart's Catholic School and other non-profit organizations. Joe and Judy, with their son, Matt, currently own and operate a Bruster's Real Ice Cream shop in Tampa. Joe loved playing golf and was an avid Badger, Packer, and Tampa Bay Rays fan. Joe is survived by his wife, Judy (Klubertanz), his son Paul (Dina) of Atlanta, GA, daughter Tara (Nathan) McFadyen of Bolingbrook, IL, sons Matt (Michelle) of Tampa, FL, and son Chris (Laura) of St Anthony, MN, grandchildren Isabella, Drew, Sam, Ella, Ava, Caleb, Joey, Sophia, and Giada, and brothers Frank (Nancy) Provenzano, Monona, WI and Michael (Peggy) Provenzano, Shoreview, MN. Joe is preceded in death by both parents Joseph and Michaelena (Falci) Provenzano, Madison, WI.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 11, 2012 at Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary Catholic Church, 227 Columbus Street in Sun Prairie. Father John Silva will preside. Burial will be in Sacred Hearts Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Monday September 10 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Tuschen-Newcomer Funeral Home, 302 Columbus St. in Sun Prairie and from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the church on Tuesday.
Joe touched the lives of many people, was a loving husband for 44 years, a terrific father, and a proud grandfather. Joe's legacy can be summed by “Putting others first” even in his last days. “Joe, Dad, Brother, and Bumpa, you will be missed and will be in our hearts forever.” The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to the doctors and staff at the Florida Hospital of Tampa. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Sacred Hearts Athletic Assoc.

Judy and family, Joe was someone I had the pleasure to work with for several years. He was one of the most well liked guys in the business. He was quick with a smile, a good listener, and very understanding. He always seemed to know what was really important in this world..family and friends! I feel lucky to have known him. I was so sorry to hear about his passing..he will be missed!

I just heard of Joe's passing. I am a Food Broker in Jacksonville, and had the pleasure working with Joe and getting to know him. Rest in peace Joe. The first time we met you and Judy was when the kids got married. We were totally out of our element but both of you made us feel at home and we had a great time. I was a food broker in Mississippi until I retired September 16, 2011. Joe was our rep and I had the privlege and pleasure of working with him. Joe was one of the good guys in the food business, he never met a stranger. I got to know Joe and we spent many hours talking about our families. He loved his family and it was always the priority with him. I am a much better person for having known and spent time with Joe Provenzano. He will be missed by many. Joe I will miss you alot. I will never forget the ride to the hospital the morning of surgery, talking about when you come home. I think you must have known that it was cancer, because you always talked about how long you would have to do chemo IF it was cancer. You wanted to feel better by Christmas. I love you lots. Judy

My condolence to Judy, and the Provenzano family. Joe was a regular comedian. He could make you laugh at anytime. The first two things that come to mind when I think of Joe is the day he mowed down his father'f tree that was recently planted and when we were kids we called him MICKEY JOE. Rest in peace cousin.
