John “Jack” D. Skalitzky, age 78, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, July 26, 2021 in Marshall. He was born on August 1, 1942 to John and Lucille (Langer) Skalitzky. Jack married Connie Schroud on January 11, 1964 at Sacred Hearts Church in Sun Prairie.

Jack loved farming his whole life, and he worked for Badger Welding Supplies for 40 years.

He is survived by his wife Connie; children Jane (Jon) Pratt, Carla (Scott) Fischer, John (Lisa) Skalitzky; 7 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; his twin brother Jerry (Ruth Ann); brother Jim (Greta); 2 sisters Wanda (Tim) Thomas, and Kay Weisensel.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 3, 2021 at Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary Catholic Church, 229 Columbus St. in Sun Prairie, Father Miroslaw Szynal will preside. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass at the church on Tuesday. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to Marshall F.F.A.

Our memories of Jack remind us of how he loved life and took every opportunity to help others enjoy it with him. As President of the Dane County Pork Producers, he and David planned and set up the concession trailer used for selling pork sandwiches since 2002. He found the refrigerated unit still used by the Pork Producers in the Milwaukee area and converted it to a mobile trailer. His favorite comment on his presidency was" I raise beef animals and I am president of the Pork Producers". He was a tireless volunteer for the Pork Producer events. He will be missed.
