BELOIT– Joan P. Norby, age 78, passed away on Friday, April 12, 2019 at home. She was born June 3, 1940 in Orfordville, Wisconsin, the daughter of Clarence and Leonora Iolene (Georgeson) Gilbertson.
Joan was a Parkview Class of 1958 graduate. She liked to remind us that she was a high school cheerleader. She was married to Ronald Norby in January 1966 in The Church by the Side of the Road, Rockton, Illinois. She was a homemaker. Joan loved playing softball, fast and slow pitch into her 40's. She was an avid Packer, Brewer and Badger fan.
She is survived by her daughter, Ronda (Robert) Schmidt; son, Randall Norby; 2 grandchildren, Anthony Schmidt and Cheryl (Jared) Millard; one soon to be great grandchild; and 2 sisters, Carol Aimers and Iolene Ray Gilbertson.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ronald; and twin brother, Jon.
Funeral services will be held at Newcomer Silverthorn Chapel on the Hill, 3008 S Coon Island Rd, Orfordville at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 17, 2019 with Pastor Jack Way officiating. A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home on Wednesday.
Burial will be in Luther Valley Cemetery, Newark Township, Rock County, Wisconsin.
