Jessica Sue Fischer, age 43, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, August 10, 2018. She was born on July 24, 1975 in Green Bay. Jess was the wife of her beloved “Fancy” and mother of their daughter Lillian. Jess loved the Green Bay Packer Fan & watching with family & friends.
Sgt. Fischer proudly served the citizens of the Town of Madison as a patrol officer, detective, and sergeant for the past 13 years. Her service to the community was beyond reproach and she will truly be missed.
Sgt. Fischer received numerous awards during her tenure with the Town of Madison Police Department. One of her first awards was for a traffic stop, eluding and drug arrest in 2006. This case turned into Jess writing a search warrant and a larger drug seizure. She has received many letters from thankful citizens and appreciation for her work from other law enforcement agencies, Jess also received recognition for her work from the United States Marshal Service. Sgt. Fischer cared about kids and ran our Shop With A Cop program for many years.
On January 4, 2010 Jess was assigned to our Detective Bureau. She enjoyed this work, but really missed patrol and working directly with our citizens. Due to her abilities, work ethic and personality Jess was promoted to Sergeant on May 2, 2016. She served in this role until death with distinction and honorably.
Jess is survived by her wife Laurie Weaver & daughter Lillian Grace, mother, Sandy (Larry) Vine and her father, Michael Fischer, sister, Marsha (Brad) Martin and nephew Kyle Fischer. Mother-n-law & father-n-law, Madeline & Marvin Flogel, sister-n law Nicole Doyle, brother-in-law William Flogel, nephew Ryan McGovern and extended family father-in-law Charles Weaver, sister-n-law Kaicy Weaver.
Jess loved dressing up for Halloween her favorite holiday & lighting fireworks on the 4th. She loved all her friends at Club 5, a place she called home. “Don't Stop Believing” #fiveforever
A Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 15, 2018 at the Tuschen-Newcomer Funeral Home, 302 Columbus Street in Sun Prairie. A visitation will take place from 4 to 8 p.m on Tuesday August 14, 2018 at the Funeral Home and from 10 a.m until the time of service on Wednesday. Memorials may be made to Jess's daughter Lillian Grace.

Unfortunately for me, I never met Sergeant Jessica Fischer, but we share one thing in common, Sisters in Blue! When one Sister or Brother leaves us, we all feel the pain! We are a family of Blue! My heart is breaking! Sergeant Fischer will be terribly missed by her community, co-workers, friends, and most especially, her family! She serviced with dedication and bravery! So sorry for your loss.

I went to a funeral today. I know this happens a million times to a million people but today, I went to a funeral. Jess was a police officer in the town of Madison. She was a young gal, compared to me.What I saw today will stay with me for a very long time. A grieving family, the love, respect and compassion of her fellow officers. The love filled the room. There was no room for ugliness and hate. It truly brought home for me that we all need to be kind to each other, respect each other and have compassion. I went to a funeral today..... RIP Jessica Fischer.

Laurie and family, I'm so sorry for your loss. No words could ever help the pain I'm sure you are going through. Jess will always hold a spot in my heart and I'm completely devastated over her loss. Laurie, now you and your daughter will always have an angel with you wherever you go. Memories will never fade and hang on to the good times on the toughest days you face in the future. My deepest sympathies.

I'm so sorry for your loss. Jess was someone who helped me and my family through the rough times. I knew I could always trust Jess and when needed she was there. Will miss you Jeds.

I'd be forcing something if I tried to write what Jess meant to me. She was a great student and she lit up every room she entered. I'm devastated by her death.

Jess - you have always held a special place in my heart. I can't begin to tell you how unique and special you are. You will live on through all of us whose lives you touched. I can still feel you here with all of us. Prayers for all who love you.

Some say you know a true friend when moving day roles around and they show up to schelp your countless boxes of photo albums, VHS tapes, and empty CD cases...not only did my Friend show up but she showed up with a smile and energy that let you know "it's gonna be alright, Buddy." Thank you Jess for the endless nights of karaoke....even if you never wanted to share the mic....love you forever.

Jess was one of the most sincerely nice, caring, and generous people I've known. She was someone who would make you feel like you were important and got her full attention whenever we talked. Such a huge loss for all. I will truly miss you, Jess.

You will forever be my buddy someone who has taught me resilience and love. Someone I have shared a million laughs with and memories I will forever keep locked in my heart. My heart is breaking and I am not sure how I can go forward with my life with the absence of you. I miss you! I love you more than I ever have said....more than words could ever describe. I don't want to accept this. Buddy you can never be replaced.
