Jerome A. (Jerry) Brassard, age 76, passed away on Friday, October 20, 2023 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Madison. He was born on May 4, 1947 in Racine and was the son of Willis and Dolores (Yager) Brassard. He graduated from Eagle River High School in 1965 and went to U.W. Whitewater until drafted in the U.S. Army. He served in Vietnam from 1969 to 1971. Jerry worked at the Left Guard in Eau Claire and Madison and Hansen’s in Westport. He owned and operated Jerry’s in Sun Prairie, then he worked at Mr. Tony’s where he met and married the love of his life Georgia. He finished his career at the Department of Corrections in Oregon until his retirement.
Jerry was a member of the V.F.W. post 9362 and the American Legion Post #333. Also the Cultural Italian American Organization, (CIAO!). He was a member of the Sun Prairie Lions Club where he was a recipient of the prestigious Melvin Jones Award.
He is survived by his wife, Georgia; brothers Frank (Dawn) Zaruba, Mark (Jill) Zaruba, Shane (Laurie) Zaruba and a sister Cheryl Gilles and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister Donene Draeger; and a brother Tim Brassard.
A visitation will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. on Friday, October 27, 2023 at the Tuschen-Newcomer Funeral Home, 302 Columbus Street in Sun Prairie In Lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Sun Prairie Lions Club.
