Janice Marie McFarlin, age 65 passed away on Sunday, July 3, 2016 in Hawaii after a long battle with cancer. She was born on June 27, 1951 in Chicago and was the daughter of Raymond and Rose (Guerra) Beran. She graduated from Schurz High School in Chicago, IL. She married Douglas McFarlin on August 29, 1970 in Rochester, MN. Janice enjoyed spending time with her dogs, shopping and traveling to many places.

She is survived by her husband Douglas; 2 sons Brent (Cindy) of Grayslake, IL, Chris (Diane) of Sun Prairie; grandchildren, Charlie, Katherine, Brent Jr. and Hope.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister Alice Filichia.
A Celebration of Life will take place from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 10, 2016 at Tuschen-Newcomer Funeral Home, 302 Columbus St. in Sun Prairie. Burial will be held at Roselawn Memorial Park in Madison at 1:30 p.m. on Monday. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to her family or a charity of your choice.

Jan has always been a special person in our lives. She became part of our family when I was only seven years old, so she has always been a part of us. Jan was very special and will be greatly missed.

I will always see you in the best friend that you could have ever given me in your son, Chris. May you always swim in the water, playing with your many animals that I'm sure you've rejoined now at your place of peace. We will always keep your memory alive for our daughter, Hope, and know that you will always be with us.
