James “Jimmer” L. Bedner, age 58, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, February 14, 2016. He was born on October 15, 1957 in Madison to Leo and Marguerite (Schmitt) Bedner. He grew up on the Bedner family farm in Sun Prairie where he created countless family memories. Jim worked for more than 40 years as an HVAC installer, the last 7 years working for Service Specialists. He married Jodi Murray on March 3, 2009 in Rockford, IL. Jim loved hunting, camping, snowmobiling, his daughters, family and friends. He shared his passion of riding Harleys with Jodi as they rode side by side.
He is survived by his wife Jodi; 2 daughters, Stephanie and Nicole; and their mother Kathy (Hatton) Bedner; step-son Caleb Murray; his mother Marguerite; sisters, Colleen Anacker, LuAnn (Tom) Kranz, and Mary (Steven) Novak; brothers, Steve (Christine) Bedner, and Brian Bedner; father and mother-in-law, Darold and Bernice Murray; sisters-in-law, Terry (Richard) Johnson, Robin (Scott) Gradel, Beth (Larry) Gradel, Lisa (Miguel) Paz.
He was preceded in death by his father and sister Linda Kranz.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, February 19, 2016 at the Tuschen-Newcomer Funeral Home, 302 Columbus St. in Sun Prairie. A visitation will be at 1 to 4 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund is being established.
