I have been friends with Helen's daughter Rose-Mary for 20 years..I started visiting Sun Prairie 8 years ago and from the moment I walked into Helen's house for the first time I felt a hospitality I'd never experienced..she treated me like a member of the family, whether she was scolding me or blessing me with her unconditional love. I will always remember her dry wit and her common sense and her no nonsense advice. She's wasn't just my friend's Mom..she was my friend..my 89 year old friend..and oh how I wish we were able to give her the 90th birthday bash she so deserved this June. I never imagined that when I hugged her and told her I loved her as I left last October that it would be the last time..she was spunky and sharp to the end. Thank you for the wonderful memories of sitting around the kitchen table drinking coffee..I will never forget you, Mrs. T..and I love you very much. And no, I don't need a sandwich! XOXOX

Unfortunately, I never had the opportunity to meet Mrs. Tuschen in person. But as a long time friend of her daughter Rose-Mary in Arizona, I feel as though I knew her well through the stories I've heard of her wit, tenacity & sense of humor from my dear friend over the years. I will miss hearing new stories but I will always have a picture of her in her kitchen drinking coffee and making people laugh. My heart goes out to all of the Tuschen family and friends who are feeling such a tremendous loss I know that her memory and spirit will forever be strong in the lives of her children, their children and future generations wherever they may wander. It is strong here in Arizona.

I've known Mrs. Tuschen on and off since she moved to her home near the church. I live in the neighborhood and am also a member at St. Albert's. She has watched my children grow, knowing their names and asking how they are, commenting on how big they've grown. But mostly, we shared stories of the foxes that live in the woods near our homes. As I entered 4:00 mass on Saturday, especially in the Spring, I'd stop and tell her how many pups I'd seen that year. She'd tell me what time of day she saw them or if they weren't around so much. I'll miss her... but will think of her when the pups are born each year.

So heartbroken. She will always have a special place in my heart. I will carry her ability to "tell it like it is", her self assured presence ,her glitz, her glamour, and the ability to know you are not dressed unless you have the "high heels on !" Loved her so...... Angela
