Helen G. Hoepker, age 96 passed away on Thursday, December 22, 2011 at the Sun Prairie Health Care Center. She was born on August 19, 1915 in the Town of Burke and was the daughter of Adolph and Gertrude (Balzer) Thomas. She married Clarence Hoepker on January 1, 1934 at Sacred Hearts Catholic Church. Helen and her husband farmed for many years in the Town of Burke. She was a member of St. Ann's Alter Society.
She is survived by her sons, Donald (Nita) Hoepker of DeForest, Gary Hoepker of Madison, 2 daughters, Dorothy Opem of DeForest, Carol (Charlie) Dawsey of Dothan, AL; 6 grandchildren, Michael Opem of DeForest, Kevin (Kay) Hoepker of Haymarket VA, Kristine (Darryl) Sleighter of Show-Low, Arizona, Jennifer Klas of DeForest, Todd (Kim) Hoepker of Wesley, Chapel, FL, Charles (Karen) Dawsey of Fort Walton Beach, FL; 2 sisters, Ruth (Pat Martin) Weisensel, of Sun Prairie, Marian Berkvam, Milwaukee; a brother Robert (Faith) Thomas, DeForest; 9 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Clarence.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 5, 2012 at Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary Catholic Church, 227 Columbus Street, in Sun Prairie with Father John Putzer presiding. Burial will be in Sun Prairie Memory Gardens. A visitation will be held from 10:00 until the time of service at the church on Thursday. The family suggest memorials be made to Sacred Hearts Endowment Fund, Building Fund or the M.A.R.C. Center West.
