Helen Clara Keller, age 95, passed away on Tuesday, June 27, 2023 in Ripon, Wisconsin. A lifelong resident of Marshall, Helen was born on July 13, 1927 to Edward and Ella (Frisch) Haefner. She married Philip Keller on October 22, 1949 at Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary Catholic Church in Sun Prairie.
Raised as a farm girl, and farming with her husband, Helen had an incredible work ethic, and was always busy. She delivered the Wisconsin State Journal and drove school bus for Lazer Bussing for many years. She enjoyed traveling with family and friends. Helen and Philip took numerous cruises, and toured parts of Europe, including Belgium, Germany and Holland. They vacationed in Hawaii and the Bahamas. They became snowbirds, traveling yearly to Texas with friends to escape Wisconsin winters. She loved old Country music, crocheting, planting and enjoying the beauty of her flowers; filling her garden and yard with peonies and lilac bushes. Helen also enjoyed lawn ornaments, the more, the better!
She is survived by: her son Bob Keller; daughters, Sherrie (Steve) Goller and Kathy Keller; nine grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; two brothers, Raymond and Leo Haefner, and a sister, Mary Haefner.
Helen is preceded in death by: her parents; husband Philip; brother, Edward and daughter-in-law, Virginia.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 5, 2023 at Holy Family/St. Mary’s Catholic Church at 120 S. Beebe St in Marshall, with Father Vince Brewer presiding. A visitation will be held from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at the Church before Mass. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.
