Hazel D. Lee, age 99 died on Wednesday, December 13, 2017 at the Columbus Hospital. She was born on November 6, 1918 in the Town of Hampden, and was the daughter of Lewis and Hilda (Lerdahl) Ihland. She married Ernest Lee on December 16, 1935.

Hazel enjoyed gardening, baking, cooking, fishing, quilting and church activities. She was a hard worker especially when it came to raising tobacco. Hazel loved spending time with her family, friends, and her cats.

She is survived by a son, Donald (June) Lee of Columbus; daughter-in-law Sandra Lee of McFarland; 1 grandson, James (Karen) Lee; 9 granddaughters, Sue (Mark) Townsend, Linda (Keith) Lidberg, Christina Reineke, Sandra (Rick) Tjugum, Audrey (David) Jakel, Jo Ann (Kevin) Bolstad, Trina (Bill) Byrne, Jennifer Lee (Jason Meyer), Andrea (Brett) Slaney; 20 great grandchildren; 15 great great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Ernest; and 2 sons, Keith and Gary and a sister Eleanor.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon at SPRING PRAIRIE LUTHERAN CHURCH, Keyeser, on Tuesday, Dec 19, 2017 with Pastor Sylvia Lee-Thompson presiding. Burial will be at the church cemetery. A visitation will be held from 10:30 a.m. until the time of services at the church on Tuesday. The family suggests in lieu of flowers memorials can be made to Spring Prairie Lutheran Church Building Fund.
