Gilbert M. Rankin, age 58, passed away on Tuesday, November 11, 2014 at Marquardt Health Center in Watertown, WI. He was born on January 31, 1956 in Sacramento, CA and was the son of Joseph and Joan (Kelly) Rankin. He grew up in Moses Lake, WA where he gained fond memories of life on the Visker family farm. As a teen, he later moved to Wisconsin where he worked at Mautz Paint Co. for over 25 years, most recently as a maintenance supervisor. As an avid mechanic, he had a passion for motorcycles and classic cars. He enjoyed the company of his family and friends, and often spent time watching his favorite movies.
He is survived by his two sons, Mitchell and Austin Rankin and former spouse Terri Jacobson all of Sun Prairie, WI; a brother Claude Kim Mavy of San Francisco, CA; a sister Joan (John) Marliave-Kruse of Honolulu, HI; and dearest uncle and aunt, Randy (Su) Visker of Moses Lake, WA.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Jan Marliave.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 15, 2014 at the Tuschen-Newcomer Funeral Home, 302 Columbus St. in Sun Prairie. Visitation will be at 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
