Gerald J. Kreitinger, age 68, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Friday, September 8, 2017. He was born in Dickinson, North Dakota on August 23, 1949 and was the son of James and Emelia (Duletski) Kreitinger. He married Jean Feiter on April 26, 1980 at St. Paul's in Madison. He worked for 37 years for Northwest Airlines and retired in 2004. He was also a 3rd Degree member of the Knights of Columbus. He lived life for his family and always had a story to tell. His famous words were, “The fact is I'm not here to buy shoes.”
He is survived by his wife, Jean; 4 children, Janelle (Landon) Hamland of Medford, Jamie (Tom) Miller of Campbellsport, Jerica (Alex) Nitz of Rockford, IL, Jordan Kreitinger of Sun Prairie; 7 grandchildren, Sienna, Addison, Mylah, Nora, Violet, Kyler and Samantha; 3 brothers, Terry, Tim (Diane), Mark (Lily); 2 sisters, Julie (Ron) Heidt, Dorice (Ray) Miller; brother and sisters-in-law, Dan and (Karen) Feiter, Ellen Feiter, also many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, In-laws, Earl and Liz Feiter; grandson Junior Miller and brother-in-law Mike Feiter.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 13, 2017 at Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary Catholic Church, 227 Columbus Street in Sun Prairie. Father Alex Carmel will preside. A visitation will be held from 2p.m. until the time of Mass at the church on Wednesday. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund is being established.
