Georgia R. Kuhn, age 69, passed away on June 11, 2016 from cancer. She was born February 22, 1947, in Chicago, Illinois to Carl A. and Elaine M. (Anderson) Johnson. Georgia and her family moved to Rockdale, Wisconsin in 1959 while she was in the 8th grade at Rockdale Graded School. She graduated from Cambridge High School in 1964 and moved to Madison, Wisconsin where she met her husband Ronald A. Kuhn. They were united in marriage on October 26, 1968. Georgia and Ron lived in many areas due to Ron's career with the Wisconsin State Patrol and Wisconsin State Lottery. In addition to her husband Ron, survivors include a son, Jeffrey (Koreen) Kuhn of Stoughton, and a daughter, Michelle (Jeffrey) Clark of Castaic, California, three grandchildren, Nicholas Howard Kuhn, Alyssa Ann Kuhn and Andrew Leal Clark.

She is also survived by a sister, Judy (Denny) Prochnow of Cambridge, a brother, Robert (Connie) Johnson of Mequon, her mother-in-law Julia Kuhn of Jackson and sisters-in-law Joan Kuhn of West Bend, Gale (James) Klumb of Jackson, and a brother-in-law Kenneth Kuhn of Fredonia, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Georgia was preceded in death by both of her parents and a brother-in-law Howard Kuhn.

Georgia retired in 2004 from Oscar Mayer after 15 years of service as a Senior Administrator and Specification Analyst. Since retirement she and Ron enjoyed time traveling the area with friends from the MadCity Vettes Corvette Club, gardening, taking vacations, and spending time with her grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be held at 6 p.m. on Thursday, June 16, 2016 at the Tuschen-Newcomer Funeral Home, 302 Columbus St. in Sun Prairie. A visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until the time of service on Thursday.
Georgia's family specifically wishes to thank the staff at Dean Healthcare and Agrace Hospice in Fitchburg. Both helped Georgia and her family during this most difficult time.

To the Family of Georgia Kuhn, Or should I say to the family of Georgia Johnson, as I only knew you and your family during our Rockdale years. Georgia was a classmate at CHS, the class of 64. She was a classmate at Rockdale Grade School, the class of 60. I went through 8 years of grade school with a class of 5 girls and myself the only boy. Georgia, Bonnie, Marilyn, Lydia and Lorraine were in my class of 6. In high school I could always depend on one of them from Rockdale to help with questions, assignments or problems and every school day morning we waited in front of Reeses Store for the 2 mile bus ride to Cambridge. During our Junior year of high school I was lucky enough to be one of the guys elected to Prom Court and all we had to do was choose another Junior to be our prom date. I chose Georgia. She was a logical choice because she was someone I liked and someone I knew. To sister Judy - you have my sympathy - you were always kind and wonderful to whoever came to your house, no matter if it was a friend of yours or a friend of Georgia's or a friend of Bob's. To brother Bob you have my sympathy Bob, you were one of us, a unique and privileged group of teenagers growing up in Rockdale. Our group consisted of Richard,Terry, Denny, Bruce, Fred, Randy, Danny, Dooner and myself. We were The Rockdale Rogues Enough said! With all girls in my class at Rockdale, it was you guys some older and some a little younger that were my friends. At our age now, every once in awhile we get a jolt of bad news losing someone we grew up with. For those of us lucky enough to still be healthy maybe life is appreciated even more. Once again to the Kuhn's, I did not know, and to the Johnson's that I did know you have my deepest sympathies. Jim Anderson

My sympathy Ron.

I am so sorry for your loss. I was a co-worker of Georgia at Kraft. We became friends sometime walking out together or seeing her stand there waiting for her husband to pick her up. I had a cousin (John Steinberg, Dennis Krueger- classmate who worked for the State Patrol, we would talk about them. Georgia was a fantastic women and will be missed.

Its been so many years gone by but she has gone on to a greater glory than we have on earth. Prays for Ron, military buddy, and his family.

Our deepest symphaty. She was a good friend and we will miss her. We always had a good time at the military reunions that Ron and James attended with the Security Police group.
