George “Bob” R. Loew, age 80, died on Friday, September 23, 2016 at The William S. Middleton Veterans Hospital in Madison. He was born on May 29, 1936 in Elm Grove, WI and was the son of George Loew and Lillian Carpenter. He married Murriel Hust on December 26, 1958 in Minnesota. Bob served in the U.S. Air Force for 6 years and the Army National Guard for 12 years. He worked for the Teamsters as a truck driver for 18 years. He also retired from the U.S. Postal Service where he worked for 28 years.
He is survived by his wife Murriel; his children, William (Sally) Gurske, Lynn (Kenny) Stegmann, Randy (Eileen) Loew, Robert (Suzanne) Loew, Samantha Loew; 13 grandchildren; many great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild; a brother James Riley; 2 sisters, Shirley Pflueghoft and Louise Massey and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his step son, Scott Sneve; his parents and 2 sisters, Florence Gentry and Virginia Heinrich.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, September 27, 2016 at Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary Catholic Church, 227 Columbus Street, Sun Prairie. Father Chahm Gahng will preside. Burial will be at Sacred Hearts Cemetery in Sun Prairie. A visitation will be held on Tuesday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at the church.
