Gary M. Hanson, age 82, passed away on Wednesday, September 27, 2023 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Madison. He was born on May 26, 1941 in Eau Claire and was the son of Louis and Mabel (Wendt) Hanson. He married Julia Moldrem on June 27, 1964 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Cadott, WI.

He taught Math at Sun Prairie High School and retired in 1997. He then was a substitute teacher at various catholic schools including Sacred Hearts School where he also taught math.

Gary is also survived by 11 nieces and nephews who were very dear to him (and predeceased by 3.) “Uncle Gary” loved to spend time with them and their families over the years and be there to celebrate the milestones on their lives. They seemed to find him lovable, amusing, kind and generous: Sheri Bergh, Ryan (Theresa) Bergh, Kevin Krause, Jeff Krause, Colleen (Dale) Ericson, Claudia (Pete) Lecher, Steve (Jill) Moldrem, Aaron Moldrem, Louise Hopkins, Marvell Bates and Bernard Moldrem.
