Barbara A. E. Banks. left a message on June 24, 2014:
Gary and I spent time doing genealogy on the Smith Family with Pat Beers Skaros, from Milwaukee. We treasured the same roots. I wrote a book: 19th Century Wisconsin Writer: Mary Ellen Beardsley Smith "Aunt Prue", we shared that Great Grandmother, as our Grandmothers Theda and Adaline Smith were sisters.: The last time I shared time with Gary was a couple of years ago, when I did a presentation in the Sun Prairie Library on the book and genealogy. We had a special bond and the furniture in her home took me back to the days of visiting Great Uncle and Aunt (Ed and Effie)...sending my love to my cousin's family, who's mother had a passion for her roots too! I hope the future generations will continue the family research. Barbara Ann Every Banks

I found Gary to be smart and funny and a joy to be with. I remember going to the Albquerque Zoo with her and Sarah. I know she will be missed by all who knew her.

Gary was a very gracious and dedicated lady. She had deep roots in the Sun Prairie community and she was a very active participant in many historical and cultural activities. She offered wisdom and compassion to those around her. She deserves recognition as a loss asset to the community because she will be greatly missed.
