Frederick “Red” A. Smith, age 69, passed away on Wednesday, April 6, 2011 at his home. He was born in Readstown on January 25, 1942 and was the son of Albert and Violet (Geddes) Smith. Red retired from Daniels Construction and enjoyed family, friends, NASCAR and cards.

He is survived by his son Robert Smith of Sun Prairie; a daughter Deborah (Gary) Van Hecker of Marshfield; 2 grandchildren, Allison Holleran and Kenna Jean Renz Smith; a step daughter, Robin (John) Walker of Spring Green, 2 sisters Norma (Ralph) Louis of Richland Center, Lois (Donald) Johnson of the Bahamas; nephews; and mother of his children Donna Beecher of Madison.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
A Memorial Service will be held at 12:00 noon on Tuesday, April 12, 2011 at The Tuschen-Newcomer Funeral Home, 302 Columbus Street in Sun Prairie with Pastor David Rostad presiding. A visitation will be held from 10:30 a.m. until the time of services at the funeral home on Tuesday. The family would like to thank the staffs of HospiceCare Inc. Hyland Park in Sun Prairie and his friends at Liberty Square Apts and his other close friends. The family also suggests in lieu of flowers, A memorial fund is being established.
